Preeti Mohan graduated in law from the Indian Law Society’s (ILS) Law College, Pune in 2007. She has since been practicing as an Advocate, and appearing before courts at various levels, primarily in the State of Tamilnadu. Her research experience includes working with the National Folklore Support Centre, Chennai, as a student, as a part of which she authored an article on ‘Folklore and the Intellectual Property Regime’. She has also worked as a researcher on a number of briefs involving substantial questions of Indian Constitutional law. She has presented research papers as a student, including on Secularism and the Basic Structure Doctrine under the Indian Constitution, presented at the “Discussions on Current Constitutional Issues” convened by the Prof. S.P. Sathe Foundation in March 2007. Her work as a litigator involves a wide range of experiences, including amongst others, handling consumer actions and actions initiated for compensation against State instrumentalities etc. She often writes for mainstream newspapers such as the Hindu, and delivers lectures annually at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
