प्रशासन, मानवाधिकार और समता

सतत पर्यावरणीय प्रशासन राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय पर्यावरणीय कानूनों के पूर्ण और प्रभावी क्रियान्वयन का एक महत्वपूर्ण स्तंभ है जिसके लिए ऐसे संस्थानों को स्थापित किए जाने की जरूरत है जो प्रभावशाली, स्वस्थ और समतापूर्ण पर्यावरणीय प्रबंधन मुहैया करा सकें। यह मानवाधिकारों की पुष्टि से आंतरिक रूप से जुड़ा हुआ है, खासकर पर्यावरणीय प्रबंधन और विशिष्ट मानवाधिकारों के साकारीकरण के बीच सम्बन्धों के सम्बन्ध में। इसके अलावा यह सीधे तौर पर समानता के मसले से भी जुड़ा है, मसलन पर्यावरण प्रबंधन में महिलाओं की स्थिति अथवा अंतरराष्ट्रीय कानून में राज्यों के बीच सम्बन्ध।

आईईएलआरसी का प्रशासन, मानवाधिकार और समता कार्यक्रम कई अंतरसम्बन्धित मसलों पर केन्द्रित है। इनमें निम्न शामिल हैं:

  • स्थानीय से अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर तक पर्यावरणीय प्रशासन

  • अंतरराष्ट्रीय कानून में भेदभावपूर्ण व्यवहार (समता)

  • मानवाधिकार और पर्यावरणीय न्याय

  • प्रक्रियागत अधिकार, जिनमें पर्यावरण और रणनीतिक प्रभाव आकलन से सम्बन्धित मसले शामिल हों

  • पर्यावरण प्रबंधन में लैंगिक मसले
